Well it's been a couple of hard fought months in this author's life. Family and work have been on the front-lines and been priority, but I vow here and now to write you folks in on the happenings much more often on this very blog. I have not ceased to read/write/create voraciously, and there are a few very incredible projects in the works that will be announced on here very soon.

What I can say now is that the R.J. Huneke novel THE CAPITOL MOVEMENT is well underway with more than 150+ pages written and edited already; this dystopian thriller will act as a start to a new series, where the Rune Works published novel THE SUBLIMINAL RELIGION would fit in as a prequel to this innovative work. More info will be available on it soon. I promise!

Today's exciting news involves my acceptance to officially contribute to the reputable, interesting, and all-encompassing Fantasy Matters. They proudly project book reviews, film opinions, and even critical looks at the Fantasy art that projects across our beautiful universe! Here is a snippet from their introduction:

"As we've made very clear on this website, we here at Fantasy Matters are big fans of Stephen King's The Dark Tower series.  And so, needless to say, we are VERY excited about the release of another book in the series: The Wind through the Keyhole.  This book will be generally released on Tuesday, and we will celebrate this event with a review of the book from a new Fantasy Matters contributor: R.J. Huneke [link to the Impulsive Review].  It will be an exciting day indeed!"

Check out the entire Impulsive Review above and remember that Stephen King writes "there will be water when God wills it."

Aside from an overwhelmingly successful reading of THE SUBLIMINAL RELIGION at the Book Revue, the novel has continued to get rave reviews from readers, and will continue to be featured in news magazines, libraries, and book stores.

On a personal note, the sequel is already well underway, and I am greatly enjoying the process of creating in the dismal world that we left off with at the end of THE SUBLIMINAL RELIGION.

A graphic comic book - drawn by the talented and renowned artist Matt Helbig - is also beyond the infant stages, and it will be a mystery involving zombies, a great cast of human characters, and is heavily influenced by the TV innovation LOST among other things.

A children's series has also been started up between myself and Kurt Zisa; it will consist of many of the things I feel are lacking in quality kids' books: mystery, suspense, technology, robots, and a journey through Penn Station.

Lastly my published short story "Lucky" will be reprinted in the US by Abandoned Towers Magazine . . . stay posted for updates as the when and where!

Best,

RJ

Well I have to say I am very privileged to be speaking tonight at one of my all time favorite book stores in the world The Book Revue!

Rarely do old time independent book stores offer up such glorious selections of myriad amounts of literature - at great prices - in such an aesthetically pleasing setting as The Book Revue in Huntington, NY. The town is also a personal favorite hangout of mine, as great food, art, culture, music, and books come together brilliantly there.

Anyone attending my reading from THE SUBLIMINAL RELIGION tonight can listen in to a carefully chosen selection, the Q/A session, and audience questions for free. Books will be available for purchase, and I will be signing as well.

I look forward to seeing everyone there!

Here it is, your SUBLIMINAL Quote of the day!

In the middle of the night:

"The phone rang, like a kettle threatening to explode. Lisa picked up."

And then . . .

This SUBLIMINAL quote of the Night is brought to you by R.J. Huneke, the maker of THE SUBLIMINAL RELIGION:

SUBLIMINAL Quote of the Night:

"You could only carry a body so far and any of those wishing to do them harm would have a hell of a time dragging their bodies through Central Park . . ."

Here is the quote from THE SUBLIMINAL RELIGION by R.J. Huneke:  Vote for Whitney. The Right Change.” The standard political banner was altered so that the highlighted letters were emphasized, “Vote White” and “Right Change,” in a brighter shade of white.

Well folks, here it is. A Juicy Quote from the book will be released sporadically on my very own blog here. Keep checking it, and read! It's fantastic!

Today's Juicy Quote: "The weeks following the terrorist attack of March Fifteenth saw a drastic outbreak of hate crimes" THE SUBLIMINAL RELIGION

Well I am floored!

The day draws near and reality comes home to hit me with a heavy mallet:  THE SUBLIMINAL RELIGION, my baby for almost two years now, is going to be out in the world! I am so excited!

That said it is vital that I say thank you for everyone's support; it has meant the world.

The AMAZON Author Page is up here, enjoy it with me!

Well, after many many arduous hours of work THE SUBLIMINAL RELIGION will be published and released on December 1, 2011!

This is my baby, and has been a culmination of my many artistic influences, including Orwell's 1984 and Mieville's The City & the City, for a long time now. The subliminal research that I did was fascinating to me, as were the characters that grew with me to traverse the cracked streets of New York City and Brooklyn in a time not too far removed from ours. I hope everyone enjoys this book, as much as I have loved being a part of its creation.

The dystopian speculative thriller involving subliminal messaging, Disney, the Tea Party and two young film students trying to avert disaster will finally see the light of day thanks to a small Amazon press and Rune Works, and it will be available in a gorgeous trade paperback for $12.99 and as an e-book as well.

Pre-orders are currently taking place now through a cut-off date (that will be announced in November), and anyone who pre-orders is guaranteed a SIGNED copy!

I hope you all love this!

Sincerely,

R.J.
