Well I am back putting up the good word on various forms of entertainment in my IMPULSIVE REVIEWS here on this blog.  Today I look to two movies on DVD:  Wall-E and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Wall-E was AMAZING!  Here is a movie that looks to the not too distant future and depicts mankind very accurately.  Once the earth becomes garbage storage for humans they are off to space leaving one last functioning mechanic/trash compactor robot, Wall-E, to continue cleaning the planet and building beautifully visual cities.  The look of the film is unprecedented and the story is one for the ages and one that is fun for all ages too.  The rough around the edges, creative robot Wall-E is instantly lovable wearing his emotions on his sleeve, (or rather his eye lenses).  A huge spaceship blast shakes and dazzles the eye.  Earthlings seeking life on their former planet send a shiny beautiful robot of their own, Eva, to investigate the situation.  She is sleek and gorgeous on the screen, resembling a cross between an I-pod and an I-Mac computer.  The lonely Wall-E instantly falls in love with Eva beginning an awesome adventure through space, the futuristic humans (too fat to walk on their own) and beyond.  The DVD will be out November 18, so be sure to pick this one up, because this is an instant favorite.  The look, the feel, the slapstick comedy, the exciting story, and Wall-E loves Eva:

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was entertaining with stark highs and lows.  The story with the aliens was great, but the writing made some parts unbelievable (even for Indy).  Still it is great seeing Harrison Ford kick ass as Indiana Jones again and as the original three are three of my favorite movies, I might add that I am a little bit of a sentimentalist here.  I say buy it and enjoy it for what it is, the last Indy adventure (and not the last Indy classic).  The DVD is out, but when watching it you might want to skip over a couple of parts here and there:

Best line:  "How much of life is lost in waiting?"

Pixar is the best! Loved The Incredibles and Wall-E looks to be my next Blu-Ray Disc.

Are my eyes and mind shot or do I remember correctly that yesterdays rating for the Indy movie was a C and now it's a B??

You are quite perceptive. Another viewing of the movie, and recollection of a great line at the end, upped the ante on this flick. It is worth checking out.

I'm sorry but a B for the crystal skull? Come on... It was horrible. What’s next, its 1969 Indy's in an iron lung and there basting off to the moon. Aliens+Indy= Garbage. It gets a “D” and that’s solely for nostalgic purposes.

Off topic, RJ you gotta check out "shot em' up" now that was an A+++. The hero kills a guy by stabbing him in the eye with a carrot! Classic

I'll have to check that one out. I had a "C" for Indy, but watched it again and got sentimental. I will not disagree with your thoughts on it, though I'll stand by a mid grading of the flick. It is decent, I think we had just really high expectations for it. The real three Indy movies are some of the all time best.
