It is officially past the halfway mark through the semester.  I have finally just completed the tasks at hand:  a speech on the awful history of the Mets, tests in Communications and American Cinema, and a paper on the great John Keats for British Literature.  I am also starting to address things that I have delayed for quite some time, including the long awaited novel's conclusion, and the next college search (more on that later).

With most of that out of the way I fled the premises on Friday, took a half day at work, and fled to the northern ranks of New England, Boston.  All Hallows Eve left a tingling buzz to the crisp Mass. air as I arrived at my friends Dan and Roseann's abode.  Drinks followed.  With their buddy Derrick the snake charmer, Dan the giant Blow-Me tissue box, Roseann the fairy, and a "HAHVAHD" (Harvard) Grad (that was me), we left for the good bars of Boston.  Along the way Dan's tissue box was pointed at, laughed at, and everyone outside in cars and across the street flipped out over his costume.  Drinks followed.  We spent some time at Sunset, one of my favorite bars (there are over a hundred different kinds of beer on tap there, literally!) and caught up with David the Gnome and his Fox.  Drinks followed.  A couple of bars later, I being a Harvard grad for a night met a beautiful student actually attending Harvard grad school named Jenny.   Intelligent conversation and more drinks followed.  At a party a short distance away I met Michael Phelps with a German beer wench on his arm.  Drinks followed.   And another bar later more drinks followed.  The four of us had a blast!

The next day we strolled downtown Boston and Quincy Market before heading to the reputed McCormick & Schmicks Seafood Restaurant.  The world renowned establishment offered me up the best Atlantic salmon I have ever eaten (flown in from Canada).  We arrived back at the house to a party in progress and began the BEER PONG!  More drinks followed.  Then a fog machine rolled in clouds of foul smelling artificial weather as the games continued on despite the adverse conditions.  Drinks followed.  The Jets and Giants won on Sunday and all was well with the world as the weekend closed.  Good times.

Now that it is time to be transferring to another school I have been overly perplexed as to those things that I avoid, making decisions.  Damn things.  So now I have learned that my academic standing is in very good shape and that various schools may actually vie for my talents and help me out much more than I ever thought possible.  Hopefully my hard work and luck will hold, but right now I am back to it.  I have to make a decision.  My head hurts.  I'll make that decision later.  Possibilities are out there and I am going to assess the best ones and delay the decision until a time when it will be prudent to do so.  Tomorrow I go to visit Cornell.  I do not have any idea whether that will be good or bad, but I will consider it with Stony Brook (still the favorite I think), NYU, Columbia, Harvard, and BU for now.  Any more ideas for schools in the New York area good for an English major/kick ass writer please write me here.
